I hope everyone enjoyed the
holidays. I would like to welcome Frank Jablonski, class of ’74
and Gary Burt, class of ’75 as the newest members of our Board of Directors. Heartfelt
congratulations to both of them! This year our
officers have planned a variety of events for all to attend. Bring your spouse
and/or friends, as all are invited. These events are a great opportunity to reacquaint with old friends and to make new ones. Looking
forward to seeing you at these outings.

THE SENECA VHS ALUMNI AWARDS PROGRAM
The
SVHSAA Awards Program is offered to the children, grandchildren
or great-grandchildren of a Seneca V.H.S. Alumni Sponsor. The sponsor must
have been a dues-paying member of the Alumni Association for at least the last
3 consecutive years or a Life Member for the previous 3 years. An Awards Committee will review the applicant’s eligibility.
Past awards have ranged up to $300 per recipient.
AWARDS APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
1) The applicant must be a current High School senior who will
graduate this year. (Proof of graduation is required). The applicant needs to
submit a 250-word essay, neatly typed & spellchecked, stating why the
applicant feels he or she deserves the award. (e.g. - High School performance, achievements and their future goals).
2) The applicant needs to provide, at the end of their essay
sheet: their Name, Age, Address, High School, Sponsor, and their relationship
to their sponsor as well as the year of the sponsors’ graduation.
3) The applicant must furnish an
address & phone number where he or she can be reached by mail or phone by
the Awards Committee.
4) The applicant’s essay must be mailed to: Judy Schwan, 723 Ransom Rd., Lancaster NY

5) The Awards Committee will accept essays postmarked from June
12, 2024 to July 31, 2024. The awards will be
presented at our annual Alumni Picnic at Fontana’s Grove, 2299 Clinton St.,
West Seneca, NY (on the south side of Clinton Street west of Harlem) on August
10, 2024. Award recipients and their parents are invited as our guests to the
2PM presentation.
In Memoriam
It is with great sadness that we report the passing
of two of our founding alumni members. Jim Boyer, class of 1961, was the first
president of the alumni and served for many years in that capacity. Cosimo Incardona, also from the class of
1961, was an avid supporter of the alumni and all our events. They have both passed since our last
newsletter and they will be missed by all of us.
